Our Story
We (Milly a fashion designer and Ed an environmental engineer) moved to India for a year of change.
This change wasn’t easy, as it required a massive shift in our mindsets. We had to push regular income and the corporate life to the side in search of more meaningful work.
We are both wildly passionate about the environment and our impact on it. While working in the fashion industry in Australia, Milly started to become more aware of the industry’s impact. The move to India was the perfect time for Milly to step away from the fashion industry as she knew it and align her growing passion and values for sustainable and ethical practices with her work.
Working with a social business, Ed was engaging with urban communities comprised of migrants, many who had left their native homes and practices in search of work. Milly also recognised the decreasing appreciation and value placed on maintaining and supporting traditional artisanal crafts in a developing economy. While getting to know Indian culture and the sustainable and slow fashion community in Bangalore, we both had a drive to do more while in India.
like.minded grew out of this desire to align our personal beliefs and values for planet and people to the clothes that we wear.
